[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Charlie and I got married in his hometown over the summer, where we had spent the prior 9 summers enjoying the beautiful jersey shore. We wanted the entire wedding weekend to feel carefree, joyous, full of warmth and most of all, fun. The common thread in our relationship has always been laughter, and we really wanted our guests smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves the entire time. It was important that our entire wedding felt like us, so we wanted a vibe that felt “summer minimalist”. Having met at college and grown up together, we really wanted our wedding to emulate the type of fun we had in college. Our friends and family mean so much to us, so we wanted to ensure we were surrounded by that love all weekend.
We wanted the entire feel to be joyous, fun, and full of warmth. We really wanted the wedding to be representative of us and our relationship – with personal touches where we could. Classy, elegant, personal, and warm – evocative of our relationship. We wanted people to be smiling, mingling, laughing and dancing all night long. We have a true deep friendship and are surrounded by friends and family that we’re both so close with and have created around us, and we wanted all of these people to be having the happiest time, so we wanted our wedding to be bright airy and joyful [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Charlie and I love to spend time together over a delicious meal and over a very long walk. The combo of the two make a perfect day – exploring new places, trying new things and getting to spend quality together covering every topic under the sun. One early Sunday morning in May, Charlie asked what I wanted to do that day, and food + a walk was my ideal situation. Little did I know he was hoping that would be my plan. I had been craving a good bagel with lox and suggested we ventured to Sadelle’s (one of our favorite spots!) to see if we could get in. Luckily we did, and after a delicious meal (it never disappoints) we went for a long walk from Soho to the West Side Highway to walk by the water, one of our favorite places to roam. It was a gorgeous day, and for some reason I didn’t question why Charlie was wearing a jacket (turns out it was to hide the ring box!). The walk went longer and longer, and I told Charlie I was getting tired, and could we turn around? He seemed to be enjoying the walk and suggested we go a bit further. Finally, we stumbled upon a beautiful slightly secluded area, where flowers were all around in full bloom, and paused. It clicked at that point when Charlie gave me a huge smile and a little nod. Charlie got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We went back to our apartment to change, and about 30 of our friends and family were waiting there as a surprise with our entire apartment decorated! We all went and got drinks at PJ Clarke’s by the water, and then went out to dinner in Tribeca. A few more of our friends surprised us from out of town at dinner. It was amazing! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Carolina Herrera. I was one of the last brides to wear a Carolina wedding dress, given she stopped doing bridal! [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]To match the blue / green florals and decor, my 11 bridesmaids wore a mix of blues and greens – mixed prints and patterns! We wanted it to be evocative of summer! The groomsmen all wore matching ties in the same color scheme. My sister and maid of honor wore Oscar de la Renta, and the rest of the girls wore Coco Shop, Zimmermann, Abercrombie, de Castro, V Chapman, Alexis, Me + Em and Reformation. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Speciality drinks were a Paloma and a Moscow mule, with beers and high noons in galvanized tubs for our guests to grab on the go!
Dinner was inspired by NJ summer – classic surf and turf [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]”The design vision for Elizabeth and Charlie’s wedding was “Coastal Chic” with lots of texture, natural tones and elegance. Aesthetically, we incorporated various blues and greens, which were carried through from the couple’s invitation suite, to their ceremony florals which surrounded the waterfront lawn, to the table settings. We wanted the vibe to feel relaxed yet elevated and every thoughtful detail ended up complimenting each other beautifully!” – from the planner, Kathleen Deo[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We didn’t want the party to stop! Instead, we chose to have dessert platters for our guests, and espresso martinis passed around to fuel everyone for more hours on the dance floor. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We + our entire wedding parties stayed at a beautiful, local historic estate in Rumson called the Rohallion, helping create our dream of a mini college reunion (Dartmouth pong was played all weekend!). Our wedding weekend kicked off Thursday with a family barbecue followed by drinks at a local bar with live music in town. On Friday, Charlie organized a mini golf tournament with his closest friends and wedding party, while I did a fun workout followed by a day on the beach with my girl friends and family. Our rehearsal dinner and welcome party were held on the beach, featuring amazing speeches that made us mainly laugh, but also cry. Saturday was the greatest day ever, and every moment had us smiling and feeling so lucky. Every moment from getting ready with my gals and blasting music on the way to the venue, to the intimate ketubah signing led by my dad, to the gorgeous ceremony officiated by our best friend Abby, to the speeches and the ELECTRIC dance floor that didn’t stop till almost 1am was true perfection.
