Sarah envisioned a classic wedding with timeless elements and a nostalgic vintage charm! She was drawn toward a traditional vibe, with attention to the past’s elegant details. From the stunning St. Patrick’s Cathedral to the historic Ashton Depot, the venues played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life.

Max proposed to Sarah at Holy Hill Basilica in Wisconsin before Christmas Eve Mass. Sarah is one to spoil surprises, so naturally, she caught on to Max’s original proposal plan. He then decided to make a quick decision to bump it up about 5 months to make sure she would be truly surprised — and surprised she was! It made for the most special Christmas season ever.

The Bride wore the Yours Forever gown with the matching bolero by Sareh Nouri. When Sarah went dress shopping at Stanley Korshak, Sareh Nouri was there for her trunk show, so she got to work with her directly, which was incredibly special. She felt like she was living out the iconic bridal scene from The Parent Trap. She knew she wanted something more traditional and modest, and after going back and forth on a few dresses, Nouri convinced her that the ball gown paired with the long-sleeved, high neck bolero with leaf detailing was the way to go for their late fall Cathedral wedding — And she was right! Sarah can’t imagine having worn any other dress.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bride carefully selected blue one-shoulder dresses for her bridesmaids, choosing a design that was both elegant and timeless. The dresses were a soft, sophisticated shade of blue, perfectly complementing the overall color palette of the wedding. [/field]

The evening’s menu included cocktail hour bites of open pulled pork empanadas, spicy chipotle honey shrimp on a crispy plantain. The main seated dinner featured a mustard-crusted pork tenderloin with butternut squash risotto! The bride shares, “The synchronized service during our plated dinner was amazing and one of the reasons we chose The Ashton Depot! It all made for a wonderful guest experience — we are still receiving compliments about that!”

Sarah knew she didn’t want pops of color, so they stuck with white florals with little to no greenery. Once they landed on colors, with the help of J Designs, visions of a cascading white orchid bouquet were brought to life!

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The couple delighted their guests with two beautiful cakes, both expertly crafted by Batter and Mac! The first was a classic four-tiered white cake adorned with a vintage cake topper. The second, a fun groom’s cake – featuring a Texas A&M logo on the outside where he is in Law school and also the bride’s college, but as a clever surprise, the inside was filled with Marquette University colors in honor of the groom’s alma mater.

From the bride, “Max sang ‘There’s the Sun” by Zach Top to Sarah during the reception with one of his groomsmen playing guitar. Max grew up in musical theatre and did a cappella in college (yes, it’s exactly like Pitch Perfect), so it was perfectly fitting. His dad also sang to his mom at their wedding — like father, like son!”

Max’s sisters DROVE down the cake and other desserts to Fort Worth, Texas, all the way from Wisconsin!

The bride was walked down the aisle by both her dad and stepdad! Sarah wanted to be sure she had both of them equally included in the most important day of her life.
