The first course featured a poached pear salad with candied pecans & maple dressing. Then guests chose between beef tenderloin, seared lamb sirloin, or seared salmon for their main course, and then finished with wedding cake and late-night chicken biscuits, and french fries.

Tables were dressed in beautiful lilac linens to create a romantic base for the florals and place settings. White china with a delicate gold trim, along with gold flatware at each place setting, with a moody, smoky wine glass for depth. Custom dinner menus at each seat featuring the same floral pattern used on the wedding stationery. The lush florals adorned each table in beautiful shades of blue and purple with touches of ivory and soft pinks. Intermixed were taper candles in shades of blue and purple to create a rich aesthetic. A statement floral and lighting installation over the dance floor created a stunning focal point as guests entered the space. A black and white checkered dance floor added to the timeless feel, while soft blue drapes hung behind the band as a backdrop.

The wedding cake was simple and elegant with a scraped design on each tier. The cake was kept simple, which allowed the florals on the table to pop and accent the setup.

The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s brother. This added such a sweet and personal touch to the ceremony and allowed for personal stories to be shared, full of laughter and tears of joy. The ceremony aisle was lined with lush floral meadow, creating the perfect accent for the wedding party to enter and exit. The arbor behind the couple was also adorned with beautiful florals and greenery.

The groom loves affogato, so this specialty dessert was served after dinner to all guests as a surprise. The ice cream and fresh espresso filled the space with the most delicious scent, which everyone enjoyed!

The wedding stationery was a fully custom suite featuring nods to the couple’s time at the University of Chapel Hill. With the rehearsal & welcome party at the Inn at Chapel Hill, the inserts were a die cut of the Old Well, a longtime UNC campus landmark, home to the University’s oldest traditions, First Sip, where students brave long lines on the first day of school to drink the well’s water for good luck and a perfect GPA. This was the perfect whimsical addition to the suite as a preview for what was to come. The groom also has a fondness for small woodland animals, so we were able to find ways to incorporate these into the stationery. In the suite, you’ll find a deer, a hedgehog, butterflies, and even the infamous Belite Cow from Fearrington Farms.

The floral and lighting installation over the dancefloor was a statement piece that was enjoyed by all. Specialty-sourced lighting was used that had beautiful lotus pendants intermixed with crystal orbs to create a beautiful glow over the dance floor. We also included pin spots throughout the space to highlight the tablescapes and create a more intimate feel during dinner. The lighting was accentuated with a full greenery build-out and the most beautiful florals in shades of blue, purple, and blush.
