The day unfolded with two distinct atmospheres. The ceremony embraced an ethereal monochromatic white palette, softened by subtle touches of green in a breathtaking floral arch. As guests transitioned into the reception, the mood gently shifted into soft pastels, blushes, and sand-toned textures, inviting warmth and intimacy while still holding onto elegance.
Nestled on the stunning Kohala Coast of the Big Island, Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection, set the scene with its lush oceanfront grounds, black lava rock landscapes, and serene Pacific views. This luxury resort offered the couple and their guests an unforgettable blend of privacy, natural beauty, and barefoot elegance, making it the perfect location for their heartfelt celebration. Lindsay and Thomas selected Mauna Lani’s Papakonane Beach venue for its secluded ambiance and sweeping sunset views. The overall vibe was relaxed, romantic, and refined, perfectly echoing the spirit of Hawai’i and the bride’s vision of soft, feminine textures with a modern tropical twist. The reception design was an extension of the bride’s refined taste and eye for detail. She handpicked each element—from the soft blush linens to the sheer table runners adorned with coastal-inspired shell motifs, creating a layered, textural tablescape that whispered ocean romance. Sand-colored linen napkins and coordinating rings added an effortless, beach-chic finish. The floral arrangements were slightly brighter here, featuring a fresh fusion of orchids and petal-rich blooms, striking the perfect balance between modern tropical and soft romance.

Lindsay stunned in a Mira Zwillinger “Karla” gown and veil for the ceremony and cocktail hour. For dinner, she slipped into a sleek satin gown with a plunging neckline, letting her hair down to fully embrace the laid-back Hawaiian elegance. In a tribute to her roots, the Mother of the Bride wore a traditional white and pink Korean hanbok, holding a petite white bouquet by Lily of Shoot Blooms. The Father of the Bride wore a classic Western suit, perfectly complementing the occasion.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Their cocktail hour by the fire pit, framed by golden skies and gentle waves, offered a warm, intimate close to this oceanfront dream day.
Their menu, inspired by a traditional ‘ohana-style dinner, celebrated the vibrant, soulful flavors of Hawai’i in a heart-centered way. Food was served family-style at a long, shared table, inviting connection and joy.[/field]

The bride carried an all-peony bouquet, a dreamy nod to her feminine style. Florals throughout the event showcased a gorgeous mix: summery ranunculus, elegant lisianthus, lush hydrangeas, and sleek phalaenopsis orchids. The ceremony arch combined monstera leaves, roses, and ruscus for tropical texture and volume, while reception florals leaned into modern flair with vibrant, petal-forward designs.

Led by Kahu Tom, the ceremony opened with a traditional ‘oli (Hawaiian chant) and concluded with a heartfelt blessing. A meaningful family moment unfolded as the couple’s two sons held a carved koa wood bowl filled with ocean water during the ring blessing ritual. The groom honored his late parents with a framed photo and a ceremonial lei-draped seat—a touching tribute to love that transcends presence.
