The vision for Arden and Pierce’s day was all about effortless elegance — chic, minimal, and deeply connected to the natural beauty of Hawaii. They wanted their wedding to feel timeless, with a design that was modern yet grounded, letting the stunning island landscape speak for itself. From the soft neutral palette to the clean, refined details, everything was chosen with intention. Nothing felt overdone or overly styled. Instead, a quiet sophistication was woven through every element — from the floral design to the tablescape — highlighting the textures and tones of the island in a subtle, elevated way. Though they live in Canada, they chose to celebrate in Kihei, Hawaii, at Arden’s family home. The house had just finished renovations in time for the big day, making the setting all the more special — a perfect backdrop for a celebration grounded in love, connection, and a deep appreciation for nature. They invited about 45 of their closest loved ones, creating a day that was both meaningful and beautifully put together. The celebration had a thoughtful elegance that felt true to them, filled with genuine moments and the easy comfort of being surrounded by people who truly matter. Every detail reflected their calm, graceful style, set against a backdrop that now holds even more meaning in their love story.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Arden and Pierce’s Engagement Story, in the Bride’s Words: “We got engaged on June 26, 2023, in the beautiful town of Praiano on the Amalfi Coast. It was our first night there, and after a dreamy dinner at Casa Angelina overlooking the sea, we took the longer scenic route back to our hotel. Somewhere along a quiet cobblestone path under the moonlight, Pierce proposed—just the two of us, with the ocean below and stars above.

It was perfect… until we realized we were completely lost. The winding paths led us to dead ends and even people’s front doors, with no taxis in sight. After some happy (and some panicked) tears, we came across a little lemon souvenir shop that was somehow still open. The sweet Italian family inside called a driver for us, and we finally made it back to our hotel —engaged, flustered, and with a perfectly imperfect story.”[/field]

Arden’s gown by Alexandra Grecco made a quiet statement with its clean lines and modern shape. The structured bodice featured a soft square neckline and wide straps, perfectly framing her silhouette. Made from matte fabric, the dress had a smooth, refined finish that felt both timeless and intentional. Arden’s veil, designed by OUMA, added the perfect unexpected detail to her look. “I wanted to go with the hand-painted florals on the veil because I felt that I could afford to do something a bit unique and different, given the simplicity of the dress,” she shared. “I also felt like it was a good nod to Hawaiian florals in a very understated way.” The result was something soft, personal, and just the right amount of unconventional.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]There were no official bridesmaids, but Arden’s mother, sister, grandmother, and closest girlfriends wore punchy, vibrant dresses in shades of pink and orange reminiscent of a fiery Hawaiian sunset. Each dress featured a different silhouette, making every look unique and personal. This allowed everyone to choose something they felt comfortable and confident in, adding to the joyful and colorful energy of the day.[/field]

Food and beverage was executed by Cutting Edge Catering, who brought the perfect balance of local flavor, thoughtful presentation, and exceptional service to the day. From the beautifully crafted cocktails to the artfully plated dishes, every detail felt intentional and true to Arden and Pierce’s vision. The couple opted for signature cocktails that reflected their personalities — Pierce’s “Old Hawaii” was a bold mix of bourbon, fresh lemon and lime, charred pineapple, citrus brûlée, and rosemary, while Arden’s “Kula Crush” was a bright, refreshing blend of vodka, guava, muddled strawberry, basil, and ginger infusion. Guests were treated to a delicious lineup of tray-passed pupus during cocktail hour, including crispy coconut shrimp with green mango and Hawaiian chili jam, mochiko chicken glazed with unagi and hot miso mustard, and hamachi misoyaki musubi with wasabi, sesame rice cake, nori, and ocean salad. Dinner was served as a duo entrée, giving guests the best of both worlds: Hawaiian rancher’s beef striploin with rosemary garlic potatoes, chili emulsion, and pistachio date pesto, alongside a macadamia nut-crusted Hawaiian catch with lemongrass ginger butter and seasonal vegetables. And for dessert? A twist on the traditional wedding cake — a beautifully plated strawberry shortcake with roasted strawberries and vanilla basil gelato. It was the perfect sweet ending to a truly memorable meal. One standout during cocktail hour was Oysters Hawaii, a mobile oyster shucking company. Their fresh oysters, served with a selection of homemade sauces, were a total hit and brought a fun, elevated experience that felt very “Arden and Pierce.”

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

We worked closely with Teresa Sena Designs and her lead designer, Kira Roberts, to bring Arden and Pierce’s floral vision to life. The overall design was elegant and refined, with a palette of soft whites, creamy tones, and just a touch of greenery. Island orchids, anthurium, and full-petaled blooms gave everything a romantic, natural feel that fit the Maui setting perfectly. One of the most special touches was the gardenias — Arden’s favorite flower. Teresa and Kira sourced them beautifully, and their sweet, nostalgic scent floated through the air all day. It was a meaningful detail for the bride and added something truly personal to the overall design. Arden’s bouquet featured a soft, organic arrangement of white florals and Phalaenopsis orchids with minimal greenery. It was simple, timeless, and completely true to her. For the ceremony, garden-style arrangements framed the couple as they exchanged vows. Tall spring blooms like delphinium and larkspur added just the right amount of height, while orchids and roses brought in softness and texture. The reception carried that same feeling, with two long, low arrangements running down the dining tables. Creamy white blooms, phalaenopsis orchids, and a hint of tropical foliage were mixed with soft candlelight from whitewash rattan and glass votives. A single orchid with a touch of greenery topped each napkin — simple, thoughtful, and just enough. Every floral detail came together to create a setting that felt effortlessly elegant and deeply personal — a perfect reflection of Arden and Pierce’s day.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Arden and Pierce chose a plated strawberry shortcake dessert. They both agreed that cake was one detail they could easily do without — opting instead for something fresh, personal, and deliciously memorable.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]A standout detail from the day was Arden and Pierce’s cozy welcome area, thoughtfully styled with a welcome table provided by Rio Event Design. Every element was chosen to greet their guests with warmth and personality. Their guest book, a linen keepsake from MILK, featured engagement photos taken on Oahu the year before, creating a timeless coffee table book they’ll cherish for years to come.

They also included a bowl of custom matches embossed with a gold foil oyster design—a nod to their love of oysters. The matches were beautifully displayed in a travertine bowl, surrounded by whitewash rattan votives and a woven card box, all contributing to the inviting, natural vibe.

Elegant parasol umbrellas offered both practical shade and a stylish, chic touch that elevated the space and stood out beautifully in their photo gallery.

Completing the space was a highlight of the evening: a custom seating chart by Miss B Calligraphy. Set on an off-white background with sage lettering, the chart featured each guest alongside their adorable baby photo — a charming detail that quickly became a favorite conversation starter.[/field]

We chose Artisan Events Maui’s beautiful dining structures to shape the event layout and design. They created an intimate, elevated atmosphere that perfectly complemented the stunning Maui backdrop — never competing with it, but instead bringing the whole look together with effortless elegance.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Arden and Pierce’s wedding was beautifully documented by the incredibly talented Melia Lucida, who has an effortless way of capturing moments that feel both elevated and deeply personal. During planning, Arden and Pierce shared with Melia that they gravitated toward candid, dynamic imagery — and she delivered that and more. From quiet, in-between moments to the vibrant energy of celebration, every photo felt intentional, honest, and full of life.[/field]
