Haley and Tanner envisioned a refined yet relaxed celebration that mirrored their grounded personalities. As an elementary school teacher and a potato farmer, they are a naturally down-to-earth couple who value simplicity and intentionality. Their design leaned into a soft, clean palette layered with natural textures, organic florals, and elevated garden-inspired elements. From the start, the goal was to create a wedding that felt elegant without being overly fussy—inviting yet elevated. We prioritized a cohesive guest experience from the welcome cocktails to the final dance under a sailcloth tent, focusing on warmth, authenticity, and beauty at every turn.

Haley wore a clean and timeless gown that perfectly reflected her personal style—elegant, understated, and effortlessly beautiful. The silhouette was classic, allowing her natural grace to shine, with soft details that felt right at home in the garden setting of the Ojai Valley Inn. Her bridal look was finished with minimal accessories and a soft, romantic beauty look by Jackie Romero, letting the overall aesthetic remain refined and relaxed.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids wore floor-length gowns by Jenny Yoo in a luxe satin fabric, all in the shade “Platinum.” The dresses added just the right touch of formality while keeping a soft, neutral tone that blended seamlessly into the overall design palette. The choice of fabric and color gave a gentle sheen that caught the light beautifully and added depth without overpowering the clean, garden-forward look of the event.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Tanner and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, bringing a tailored and traditional touch to the laid-back luxury vibe of the day. The timeless formalwear provided a grounding contrast to the natural, organic setting—elevating the overall look while honoring the couple’s appreciation for a clean and polished aesthetic.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Food was a top priority for Haley and Tanner, and the menu was thoughtfully curated to reflect their tastes and values. Filet mignon was non-negotiable—a nod to Haley’s family’s roots in dairy farming, where quality beef has always held significance. It was served alongside a grilled herb-marinated chicken breast, which was anything but ordinary—flavorful, juicy, and beautifully plated. For guests preferring a plant-based option, the roasted acorn squash dish offered a seasonal, elevated alternative that felt just as considered. The wine served throughout the evening was a detail not to be overlooked. Guests enjoyed pours of private label wines from Qupe, bottled exclusively for the Ojai Valley Inn, available both at the bar and tableside during dinner service—another way the couple infused a sense of place into their celebration. While dinner was a highlight, the desserts truly stole the show. Guests were surprised with alternating plated desserts: a café au lait parfait layered with sophistication and a signature candy bar dessert—an Ojai Valley Inn favorite—featuring pretzel cookie crust, peanut butter mousse, caramel, chocolate ganache, chocolate sauce, peanut brittle, and vanilla bean whipped cream. Rich, playful, and indulgent, it became one of the most talked-about elements of the evening.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The overall design was rooted in the natural beauty of Ojai—its serene mountain backdrop, warm earthy tones, and organic textures. Rather than compete with the landscape, we leaned into it. Every design decision was made with intention: subtle where it could be, impactful where it mattered. A sailcloth tent—something the bride had envisioned from the start—became the perfect canvas for the reception, offering a light, airy structure that felt both elevated and relaxed. Inside, a green and white checkered dance floor provided an unexpected and fresh visual anchor, complementing the surrounding design while adding a playful, personal touch. We layered the space with organic floral moments from Fig Event Co., focusing on select high-impact installations: a tent entrance draped in foliage, a lush bar arrangement, and a hanging floral piece over the dance floor. These thoughtfully placed elements created depth without overwhelming the setting. The overall design was rooted in the natural beauty of Ojai—its serene mountain backdrop, warm earthy tones, and organic textures. Rather than compete with the landscape, we leaned into it. Every design decision was made with intention: subtle where it could be, impactful where it mattered. For the ceremony, a softly curved aisle guides guests into the moment in an organic, unstructured way—guiding them gently toward the ceremony tree, which served as a natural focal point. The floral design echoed that same quiet elegance, with aisle treatments and grounded floral elements that framed the space without overwhelming it. A sailcloth tent—something the bride had envisioned from the beginning—became the perfect reception setting. Light and airy, it offered structure without ever feeling closed in. At the center of the space, a green and white checkered dance floor added a fresh, original element that tied seamlessly into the garden-inspired aesthetic. Inside the tent, florals were used strategically: statement arrangements at the entrance and bar, and a suspended floral installation over the dance floor created visual impact while allowing the rest of the space to remain airy and refined. Wooden banquet tables and natural-toned chairs grounded the look, while soft, layered linens in neutral tones added depth and texture. From florals to furniture, each element was chosen to complement—not compete with—the landscape, creating a warm, cohesive, and intentional celebration.

The cake was a beautiful reflection of the overall design—natural, tiered, and understated in the best way. Created by Room for Cake, it featured clean lines and a soft, organic texture. Displayed on its own table dressed in a complementary linen, the cake served as both a design moment and a sweet conclusion to the evening.

Stationery & Signage From the very beginning, the stationery set the tone for the wedding’s refined, natural aesthetic. The save the date featured a custom line drawing of the Ojai Valley Inn’s iconic mountain range—the very view that guests would later experience during the ceremony. It was the couple’s first intentional nod to place, giving guests an early sense of connection to the landscape. That mountain range detail was gently carried through the full invitation suite, subtly integrated into the die-cut edges of the details card, and complemented by a custom watercolor map of the property. The envelope liner featured a delicate leaf line drawing that reappeared throughout the day-of materials—never in a heavy-handed or repetitive way, but always as a quiet thread tying the full guest experience together. On the wedding day itself, the printed pieces became artful moments of their own. The signage was crafted with handmade, painted plaster backings, mounted on wood bases for a textural, elevated feel. The circular escort card display—one of our favorite design elements—featured the custom die-cut mountain silhouette. Even the dinner menus were reimagined: printed in a horizontal format that felt modern, balanced, and distinct. Every piece was layered with meaning and intention, creating a cohesive visual identity that felt completely personalized, never templated.

A Floral-Focused Guest Experience. Florals were thoughtfully layered throughout the event to create moments of impact exactly where guests would encounter them. Rather than filling every space, we focused on artfully placed installations that elevated key points in the celebration—enhancing the atmosphere without overshadowing the natural setting. The escort card display served as one of the first immersive moments: a striking circular structure crowned with a custom mountain range die-cut and anchored by a dramatic floral centerpiece. It set the tone immediately—organic, intentional, and full of quiet beauty. As guests made their way toward the sailcloth tent, the entrance was softened with floral and foliage treatments that framed the threshold and created a welcoming transition into the reception space. Once inside, the oversized square bar became an early focal point, dressed with abundant garden-style florals that encouraged gathering and conversation. Finally, the floral installation suspended over the dance floor brought the entire design story to a crescendo. Full of texture and movement, it added a sense of magic and celebration to the space—perfectly timed for when guests were fully immersed in the energy of the evening.
