BRIDE: We wanted the color palette and decor to evoke an organic and natural warmth. We also really loved the idea of bringing the outside in, with lush greenery and even real trees! The idea was to make our guests feel like they were at a cozy dinner party under the trees. Our vendor team went above and beyond and completely transformed the space into exactly that! It was amazing!

PLANNER: The overall theme was an “enchanted conservatory,” blending warmth and organic elements into the sleek, modern architecture of the ICA. The Brilliant Event Planning team made the planning process so easy, seamless, and fun! Sarah and her team were incredible. From day one, they understood our vision and did an amazing job bringing it to life! Truly the best team.

BRIDE: Tim planned a weekend away in Burlington, Vermont. Before dinner, we went to the coziest wine bar, and then while walking over to our next stop, Tim took us through a park in the center of town. It was snowing, all the trees were lit up, and the park was empty beside the two of us; that’s when Tim proposed!

BRIDE: My wedding dress was a custom design. I landed on a custom dress because, although I was looking for a very simple dress, I was having such a difficult time finding the exact design that fit my body best! That’s when I found Bre at Bremelia – a custom wedding dress shop in Boston. It was such a fun and exciting process to work on the design with Bre and see the dress transition from sketch to actuality! Aa ‘trust the process’ moment, but that was what was so cool about it.

BRIDE: We both love food, so this was very important to us during the planning process. We wanted to make sure that from cocktail hour to dinner to the late-night snacks that our guests were well fed! The team at The Catered Affair did such a great job, and our friends are still talking about the heirloom tomato salad.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

BRIDE: For floral designs, we wanted something that was both classic and timeless, but also organic. Given the modern design of the ICA, we knew we had to find the perfect balance between the two as we did not want the space to feel too rustic. Shawna at Wild Dahlia did just that! She mixed timeless white florals with potted plants, and it was absolutely beautiful!

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

PLANNER: The wedding cake was created by their caterer, The Catered Affair – a Lemon Summer Berry Wedding Cake featuring vanilla cake, lemon curd, fresh red raspberries, and vanilla buttercream. It was the perfect light and sweet addition to their June celebration. For the design, the couple opted for something simple and elegant. Wild Dahlia added a delicate touch of greenery, seamlessly tying the cake into the secret garden aesthetic of their wedding.

BRIDE: The entire day was so special – what we loved the most was having all of our favorite people in one place. One of our favorite parts of the day was our ceremony. Libby’s brother was ordained to marry us, and we both wrote our vows. The ceremony was very much ‘us.’ On top of that, it was very cool to look up and see all our family and friends sitting on the ICA steps watching us get married!

BRIDE: The dance floor was also one of our favorite parts of the day. The dancing was non-stop and so much fun. The band, Café Wha, exceeded expectations.
