We wanted to create a warm and inviting fall vibe while steering away from the typical autumn color palette. The bride envisioned incorporating a unique blend of soft pinks and purples that felt fresh and unexpected for the season. To complement this, we added rich, deep tones that brought dimension and elegance, perfectly capturing the essence of fall in a more modern and personalized way.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]
The overall design vision was to create an elevated garden party that felt intimate, whimsical, and inviting. Each space was thoughtfully designed to immerse guests in a magical atmosphere. Our talented florist, The Little Fleur Co., brought this vision to life with vibrant, lush florals and the glow of twinkling candles. The luxurious linens from BBJ La Tavola added an elegant touch, while custom, personalized details like bespoke stationery and linen napkins tied everything together beautifully.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The Fairmont Grand Del Mar wowed guests with its exceptional cuisine and crafted cocktails. The evening began with exquisite hors d’oeuvres, followed by a delectable three-course meal featuring a fresh salad, delicate crudo, and a choice of beef tenderloin, sea bass, or butternut squash ravioli. The couple’s signature cocktails added a personal touch, with the Frenchie 75 (a twist on the classic French 75) as a tribute to their beloved French Bulldog. Guests also enjoyed a selection of Negroni, Espresso Martini, and a refreshing Hibiscus Mocktail, offering something for every palate.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Designing this day was an absolute joy for us, and we loved every detail that came together. For the ceremony, we embraced the natural beauty of the Fairmont Grand Del Mar chapel, utilizing their stunning chapel pews. Our talented florist lined the aisle with lush florals, adding vibrant pops of color that enhanced the already breathtaking space. Some of our favorite reception elements included the luxurious velvet and patterned linens from BBJ La Tavola, paired with custom monogrammed napkins for each guest at their place setting. The mix of long and round tables brought an elegant balance to the space, complemented by light cane dining chairs, pink water goblets and cream decorative charger plates. Custom menus, created by the bride herself, added a personal touch, while meal indicators featuring an adorable butterfly brought the perfect pop of garden charm to the elevated reception setting. To soften the large reception space, we thoughtfully incorporated trees from San Diego Interior Foliage, creating a more intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
The wedding cake, created by the beloved local bakery Sugar and Scribe from La Jolla, was a true standout. A delectable coconut cake with coconut and vanilla buttercream, it was as delicious as it was charming. The cake featured sweet details, including playful depictions of the couple’s adorable pups and vibrant floral accents, making it the perfect finishing touch to the celebration.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]
Guests were welcomed into the ceremony space by the enchanting sounds of a string quartet, setting the tone for a truly memorable day. As the reception began, a live band ushered guests in with the timeless tune “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac. The bride and groom shared their first dance to the romantic classic “La Vie En Rose” by Louis Armstrong, creating a magical moment. The band continued to play throughout dinner and dancing, infusing the night with vibrant energy that kept the celebration going strong.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
One of the most meaningful details of the day was the fact that the bride designed all the day-of stationery, signage, and the invitation suite herself. As an artist, this was the perfect way to showcase her talent and passion for the celebration. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted, infused with her love and excitement for the day and it all came together beautifully, adding a deeply personal touch to the overall design and making the event feel even more special.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]
A second line band guided guests from the ceremony to cocktail hour and was the perfect way to kick off the celebration, creatively honoring the groom’s Southern roots. This lively band not only set the tone for the party but also led guests to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, continuing to play throughout the cocktail hour and keeping the energy high.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]
The couple’s beloved Frenchie, Penny, was a delightful part of the day, charming everyone with her adorable bow as she walked down the aisle to a chorus of “awws.” Penny’s presence was thoughtfully woven into the celebration in creative and heartfelt ways. The couple named a signature cocktail, the “Frenchie 75,” in her honor, adorned the bar with the name “Penny’s Spot” as a sweet nod to her signature spot, and even featured her likeness on custom cocktail napkins. Penny also made a cameo on the wedding cake and happily greeted guests during cocktail hour, all made possible with the help of a fantastic dog watcher from Sitterwise. It was a perfect tribute to their precious pup!
