Striving for a light palette for her Italian countryside-themed wedding, Noelle chose deep green, sage green, lavender, light pink, light yellow, and peach. Purposefully avoiding any blue so that her mother would shine in her blue dress as Noelle’s something blue.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]
Noelle and Hunter described their vision to us as “Italian countryside meets Blue Ridge Mountains… but in a wedding” to honor their 7th date, which was a week spent together in Italy! As an art fundraiser, Noelle strategically curated items that made the day feel like a spring day in the Italian countryside, such as the marble statuettes and fine art seating chart. Their al fresco reception alongside the greenhouse brought a whimsical aesthetic that Noelle and Hunter were thrilled to have brought to life by the weather and draping florals from Secret Flowers.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
After moving to Richmond, Hunter proposed in the living room of their apartment. With her degree in art, Noelle had a deep fondness for their apartment, and we captured their engagement session in the space! We took a stroll to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts nearby and captured some imagery of them on their Vespa.

Noelle chose a light, lacy gown from Amsale that she wore a lace shrug over to give her a draping, elegant look. The lace had floral embroidery. She paired a cathedral lace veil with her lace shrug. Her shoes were hand-painted with florals and their initials from Alepel.

There was no formal wedding party; however, Noelle asked her closest friends to wear colorful or floral outfits to accent her floral vision for the day.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The guests were treated to aperol spritz and a rosemary bourbon sour specialty drinks alongside charcuterie plates with fruits and lemons. [/field]

Since the greenhouse was based in a large garden, Noelle didn’t want to overwhelm the aesthetic and chose simple, draping floral arrangements with muted colors of deep green, sage green, lavender, light pink, light yellow, and peach. The al fresco nature of the reception allowed the accent of the Blue Ridge Mountains themselves to serve as a backdrop to the flowing florals.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
The “cake” was a tiramisu served on cake stands, which were from Noelle’s paternal grandmother. They spooned out the tiramisu from a large glass serving bowl during their cake-cutting.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
To work the Blue Ridge Mountains into their Italian wedding meets blue ridge mountain theme, they hired Small Town Rodeo, a bluegrass and country string band, as their entertainment. The music provided a perfect accent to their overall theme, albeit unexpected!

Their initials were on her shoes, his cuff links, and their wedding bands.

Her maternal grandmother (now passed) made Noelle a garter from her (the grandmother’s) wedding dress, which the florist wrapped around her bouquet.
