the vision: modern garden-party chic
Designed by Caitlin & Co. Events, this wedding radiated timeless elegance with a chic, modern twist. The bridal party stunned in classic black attire, adding a sophisticated touch that perfectly complemented the bride’s look. White florals by Flowers on Broad created a classic and romantic atmosphere, while playful, fun patterns injected a sense of individuality and energy into the decor.
their love story
If you ask Hunter, he will joke that he whistled down from the rooftop balcony of the job site he was building when I was walking to one of my nursing classes. This is somewhat true, as he was building the new science building in my college town and had seen me around town. But he did not win me over with a whistle; we met through mutual friends at a downtown outing. However, I did win him over on our first date at Pickle Barrel, a burger joint in our little town. I ordered a double cheeseburger topped with a fried egg, pimento cheese, ranch, and bacon and…ate it all. Hunter ordered a Caesar salad with chicken (it’s worth noting that he’s never eaten a salad on a date since ha). Hunter now tells everyone that he knew he would marry me after our first date.
the venue
Guests arrived at Gracewood Manor and made their way down the oak-lined drive toward the grand pillared entrance to the estate. The couple prepared for the day in the manor’s well-appointed suites, then they made their way outside for their open-air ceremony and reception in the modern white barn space.
the invitations
Now this is what we call attention to detail! Note how the toile on the invitation sleeve is a perfect match to the pattern on the linens used at the wedding. We love a detail like that that comes full circle. While your guests may not notice it, subconsciously it ties the whole event together.
the signage
This wedding had some of the most interesting signage. From the custom-built escort display and bar sign to the acrylic menus, these elements really elevate the design of the day and give it a bespoke feel.
getting ready
Dressed in a flowing chiffon robe with ruffled trim Amber relaxed and enjoyed getting ready for the day. Her ladies lounged in chic satin and lace pajama sets and snapped photos as the glam team worked their magic.
the fashion
Amber looked stunning in a strapless A-line gown with a draped scooped neckline. She wore her hair down in elegant waves with a sleek front part and accessorized with pearl drop earrings and a simple tulle veil. Her bridesmaids wore classic black floor-length dresses in a variety of silhouettes that they can totally wear again. The groom and his men sported tailored black suits and Hunter selected a unique feathered bowtie to distinguish his look. Later in the evening, Amber switched to a fitted lace gown with a nude lining to really get the party started.
the cake
Under a dramatic floral canopy sat a minimalist three-tiered wedding cake dressed in buttercream frosting and live flower decorations. We love that Caitlin & Co. Events used a solid sage tablecloth to set the cake table apart from the rest of the decor.
the party
These black-and-white party photos are such a vibe. From the champagne tower to the confetti exit, it’s clear that everyone had a great time at this wedding!
