“Hill Country Chic” — which we interpreted to be southern, sophisticated, elegant, and classic with a touch of “grand millennial.” From the bride: “I told my planner, Lexie, that I wanted the theme ‘hill-country chic’ to be carried throughout the day. I couldn’t describe what I meant by that at the time, but she nailed it with every detail! We had so much fun picking unique linens, paper goods, and floral touches to bring the vision to life. It was timeless, elegant, beautiful, and so ‘us’!”

From the bride, “After almost a year of being together, Noah planned the perfect proposal. He planned a ‘dinner’ for us at our favorite golf club, and as soon as we drove up, he told me that wasn’t the real reason we were there. He sweetly walked me up to the room where my mom and sisters had set up a gorgeous white dress and coat for me to change into. After changing, Noah drove us on a golf cart to a beautiful spot under an oak tree to propose. It was freezing and windy, and the most perfect and special moment! We took some photos, and we then headed inside, where Noah had planned a party with all of our friends and family to celebrate. It was a day I will never forget!”

From the bride: “Wedding dress shopping was something I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. I knew I wanted something elegant and classic, but my gown exceeded all of my expectations! The Reem Acra gown I chose was the third dress I tried on, and my mom, mother-in-law, and sisters all fell in love when we saw it! The gorgeous lace was so classic and beautiful, and yet, I had never seen anything like it. I loved how timeless and unique the fabric, neckline, and silhouette were. It was truly a princess dress, and I felt so bridal and beautiful and would choose it a hundred times over again.”

From the bride: “I have always loved light blue and knew I wanted it for my bridesmaids’ dresses. I loved the neutral blue of the dresses I chose. I wanted the girls to all be in the same silhouette, but wanted something a little extra special for my sisters/MOHs. For them, I chose the gorgeous Alfred Sung one-shoulder dress. I loved both dresses, and most importantly, my bridal party loved them and felt so beautiful.”

Beginning with cocktail hour, guests enjoyed passed appetizers alongside mocktail refreshments — one based on a ranch water, and the other a strawberry limeade. Topo Chico was a main fixture in the cocktail hour beverages! During dinner, guests started with a plated arugula and cranberry salad, which was followed up with a dual-plated entree featuring filet mignon and chicken in creamy lemon thyme sauce. Alongside the proteins were asparagus in truffle butter, roasted potatoes, and dinner rolls. Each place setting was completed with a coffee cup and saucer, allowing for table-side coffee service during the cake cutting and toasts. But the ‘surprise and delight’ of the evening was an ice cream cart stocked with Trader Joe’s ice cream sandwiches — a favorite of the couple! Branded with the couple’s crest, they were the perfect grab-and-go treat while the dance floor was popping!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

From design board creation to day-of execution, the creative team worked collaboratively to bring Sophia & Noah’s “hill country chic” vision to life! Shop Aurea created a stunning invitation suite that was the epitome of southern sophistication with its blue and white color story, traditional script lettering, and subtle blind letterpress floral pattern (which was later reworked to be the dance floor design!) The die-cut details card and blue ribbon to tie it all together added additional visual interest to the suite. The BBJ La Tavola linens were carefully curated to bring dimension and warmth to the white and blue palette by introducing other tones into the color story, like champagne, cream, and taupe. To add a touch of grand millennial chic, a lace overlay was essential and was featured on the head table and cake tables. The pearl dot linen that was featured on many of the guest rounds was perfection in that it brought cream and white together, which in turn felt organic and elegant and mimicked the various natural hues found in the floral palette. The farmhouse tables were adorned with taupe runners with white embroidered leaves, while cocktail hour featured a tonal blue floral runner. Waterfall napkins were placed atop the glass chargers and were either in a white hemstitch or light blue linen. Lastly, Bramble & Bee worked complete floral magic throughout the various event spaces with white and blush garden-style blooms on display. From the moment guests drove up to the venue, they were welcomed with a statement floral arch that followed the chapel’s architectural lines. Inside, a lush swag was hung on the cross, with meadows on either side and down the aisles. Glass trumpet vases added additional dimension here, and were also incorporated into the farmhouse table design in the reception space. In the grand reception space, glass compotes and candelabras were centered on the round tables, while meadow arrangements were placed along the front of the head table and sweetheart table, as well as at the ends of the long farmhouse tables. Plenty of candles were styled into the tabletops, creating a romantic, intimate glow throughout the evening. A few of our other favorite decor details include the gold mirrors displaying table assignments, as well as the settee that was used for the couple at their sweetheart table. We also loved the die-cut table numbers and the petite keepsake box that was used for guests to place cards and small gifts.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The five-tier Cakes by Gina masterpiece was simple yet elegant in design, really allowing the stature of the cake to speak for itself. The couple’s crest was featured on one of the tiers, with another tier incorporating a lace design — a nod to the bridal gown. Pearl beading adorned each of the tiers, alongside lush florals on the cake and grounded around it on the table and the floor. With the placement in the center of the room, this wedding cake was a true showstopper and one that we worked the entire floor plan around! The couple also featured a groom’s cake, which was decked out with some of Noah’s favorite things — a life-size cowboy boot based on his pair of Tecovas, a Louisiana State University football helmet (his alma mater) and a golf cart complete with figurines of him and his bride (even their wedding year was displayed on the side!) The cake was almost too cool to cut into, but guests thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing!

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The statement floral arch, which was a true show-stopper in every sense of the word! Many times, we know that the bride & groom, wedding party, family (and even the guests) will take many photos in front of the venue. So when we can create a real photo-op moment and set the tone with a gorgeously flowered installation, we always go for it!

From the bride: “Our florist exceeded my dreams with the design and execution of it, and it was the perfect first impression for our guests. My favorite photos are the ones we took in front of it!”[/field]
