We wanted the colors to embrace Colorado’s natural beauty, along with the white for a classic pure wedding feel, and gold to bring warmth and a formal feel. With the design, I wanted everything to be timeless, classic, and traditional. All I wanted was to always look back on my wedding day as something that stands through time and never goes out of style.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Jacob proposed to me on our 7 year anniversary in Jamaica. He planned a whole day of fun activities and pampering me. Then we went on a private dinner on the beach where he proposed to me.[/field]

Picking out my dress was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. I wanted something unique (which I had a custom topper made for my dress by Mira to make it truly one of a kind). Since it was a custom topper, I had to trust the process and wait to see how it turned out. Mira never fails. It was the most perfect dress and entailed everything I wanted for my wedding day. Unique, traditional, classy, and romantic. My dress was one of my happiest decisions I made throughout the process.

We loved our fun signature cocktails. We both love The Gardener Martini from Matsuhisa and were so glad we got to incorporate it into our wedding day and share something we love so much with guests. The Little Nell has top-notch food and beverage service. One of our favorite parts was having guests order off their menu as if it were a restaurant. It made the experience elevated.

The Sundeck at the top of Aspen Mountain is a more rustic space. One of the most important aspects was the installation over the dance floor, I wanted our guests to walk in a be blown away by is grandeur and beauty! Carolyn and her team understood my vision for something that felt natural to Colorado but also gave a sense of glamor to the space. It was perfect.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
Our cake was one of our favorite parts – Elissa with D’Elissous Cake Studio took my vision and executed it perfectly. It was a four tier cake with edible white sugar flowers and gold leaves that tied into the other gold accents in our design. It was amazing and tasted even better than it looked!

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our officiant was a pastor from Jacob’s hometown who came out to Colorado to perform a meaningful and special ceremony for us. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
My mom mom surprised the us with live painter Alex Harvie from New Orleans to live paint the reception. It was such a fun surprise and so interactive. Alex had the guests surrounding him all night to watch him paint the reception and dance party and see if they made a cameo in the painting. It will be such a special piece of art to hang in our home for years to come!

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The night before for our welcome party at TL7 was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend because we got to share with so many good friends and family a place we love so much. We both come from a small town in the Midwest so being able to have a western night with hats and boots, dancing, s’mores, bonfire and a cigar roller was truly the best way to welcome everybody in an Aspen fashion but also in a way that reminds us of our roots.
