[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The vibe of Sarah’s wedding at Potomac Point Winery was a perfect blend of clean, minimalist elegance and timeless charm. With a classic summer palette of soft blues and crisp whites, the decor exuded sophistication and serenity. The lush florals and chinoiserie vases complemented the venue’s natural beauty, creating a fresh and airy atmosphere. Every detail, from the florals to the personal touches, reflected Sarah’s vision of a chic and understated celebration that still felt warm and inviting.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]
David proposed to Sarah during the middle of their first bike ride of the season along the picturesque lakefront path in Chicago, a spot that held special meaning for the couple. The path, with its stunning views of the water and city skyline, had always been one of their favorite places to spend time together. In that perfect moment, surrounded by the beauty of the city and the lake, David got down on one knee and asked Sarah to spend forever with him.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Sarah and David’s August wedding offered a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Guests were treated to a stunning display of fresh seasonal fruits, garden vegetable crudités with herb dip, and an array of domestic cheeses, paired with house chutney and olive tapenade. Butler-passed hors d’oeuvres like vegetable spring rolls, tomato basil bruschetta, bourbon BBQ meatballs, and chicken satay added flair to the cocktail hour. The main course featured a petite filet and pan-seared sea bass, complemented by lemon rice pilaf, roasted seasonal vegetables, and citrus-savory compound butter. Guests enjoyed a selection of award-winning wines including Potomac Point’s Chardonnay, La Belle Vie White, La Belle Vie Rosé, and Coyote Cave Red, along with a mixed selection of brews. Signature cocktails added a personal touch with an Aperol Spritz for her and a refreshing Smirnoff vodka lemonade with a blueberry garnish for him.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The wedding day at Potomac Point Winery was nothing short of magical, with florals and decor provided by the talented team at Biofloria. The couple chose a palette of blue hydrangeas and white roses, which beautifully complemented the European venue & serene vineyard backdrop. These lush and round floral arrangements were artfully displayed in exquisite blue and white chinoiserie pattern vases, adding an air of timeless elegance to the decor.

When last-minute rainstorms rolled in, the Potomac Point Winery team effortlessly adapted, transforming the ceremony into an intimate indoor celebration. The venue swiftly moved the ceremony to the Richland Ballroom, where the couple exchanged vows in front of the stunning 20 ft high white stone fireplace. The mantle became the new focal point, covered in the same beautiful florals, creating a romantic and elegant indoor setting that perfectly matched the couple’s vision.

Attention to detail was a hallmark of the day, and one of the sweetest touches was the inclusion of delicate blue floral fans at each place setting. These charming fans not only added to the aesthetic but also provided a thoughtful and practical keepsake for guests, perfectly tying in with the overall theme.

The couple’s love for their furry family members was also highlighted in the most adorable way. At the bar, a custom sign displayed their signature cocktails complete with cute illustrations of their beloved pups (Juju and Moose). This personal and playful touch brought smiles to guests’ faces and added an extra layer of warmth and personality to the celebration.

The head table was also a showstopper, adorned with a stunning long and low arrangement that traversed the entire length of the table. Mini floral arrangements added depth and dimension, while white pillar candles cast a romantic glow, enhancing the warm and intimate atmosphere. Soft candlelight flickered from votive candles scattered throughout the space, further highlighting the intricate details of the floral designs.

Despite the unexpected weather, every element came together seamlessly, making the day not only visually captivating but also a perfect reflection of the couple’s style and love for classic, yet contemporary elegance.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple’s dessert table was a beautiful highlight of the celebration. Sarah’s aunt brought in a lovely white cake from Breeze Bakery, which was elegantly adorned with baby’s breath. Traditional Korean rice cakes (tteok) were also included, adding a meaningful and memorable touch to the dessert offerings for the couple and their guests.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We used Wonderwall by Oasis for our first dance, David picked it out and it was the easiest decision that we made for our wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Instead of a traditional photo booth, we opted for a photo guestbook set up on top of a wine barrel, featuring Polaroid snapshots. It was such a joy to see our guests capturing candid moments and leaving sweet messages alongside their photos. We loved flipping through the guestbook after the wedding, cherishing the heartfelt notes and memories of our loved ones.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We kept our wedding party small but with Sarah being the youngest cousin on both sides of her family she had 4 flower girls be a part of the special day. It felt so special getting ready with all 4 of them and with 2 of Sarah’s cousins in the morning. Sarah’s cousin had the florist put together flower crowns for them which they loved.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Ensuring everyone had a blast at the reception was a top priority for us, so having a great DJ was essential. DJ Tezrah truly delivered, setting the tone with a lively opening of “Dancing Queen” by ABBA that had everyone up and dancing. We were so caught up in the fun that we decided to skip the cake cutting and keep the party going.[/field]
