When the stars aligned and this couple was finally able to tie the knot after a long engagement, they knew exactly where they wanted the wedding to be–even though they’d never actually been there. Maui, it had to be in Maui! And because this gorgeous destination was calling to them, they felt it only right to design their wedding around the island’s natural beauty, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking. the vision: it was always maui
Danielle and Brenton love to travel, and they knew from the start of their wedding planning journey that they wanted to have a destination wedding in a place brand new to them, somewhere neither of them had ever been before. After being in an international relationship for over a decade, they loved the idea of bringing all of their friends and family together in one place to connect and celebrate together. Maui was the perfect halfway point between Australia and New York, making it the most stunning backdrop for their special day! While they had to postpone their celebration due to the Lahaina Fires, they ultimately were able to have their dream wedding day with the help of Maui Love Weddings.
the flowers
Designed by Maui Palm Tree Floral, monochromatic arrangements featuring white blooms and tropical greenery were scattered throughout the entire day. They incorporated several personal touches, including the wedding florals featuring flowers that were in Danielle’s mother’s, grandmother’s, and mother-in-law’s wedding bouquets.
getting ready
Danielle took in the island breeze on the porch of her bridal cabin as she welcomed her bridesmaids in their adorable matching blue and white pajama sets. Each of the bridesmaids had their hair styled in elegant updos while Danielle opted for a half-up, half-down style with beachy waves.
the fashion
For the big day, Danielle fell in love with the ‘Morgana’ gown by Netta BenShabu. She paired the lace and tulle gown with beautiful lace pumps by Bella Bella that fastened with ribbons and a long tulle veil that danced in the wind. Brenton sported a classic black tux and black bow tie.
live painting
A live painter captured their first dance and the surrounding paradise. We are seeing more and more couples invest in this incredible keepsake that also doubles as entertainment for your guests, and it makes our hearts so happy to see artists being supported!
the first look
When he first saw Danielle in her gown, Brenton was speechless. From the neckline to the elegant lace sleeves, there were so many details to take in. The two shared a private embrace before heading off to take their places for the ceremony.
trend alert: personal message seating chart
These personalized note seating charts are really taking off, and we love this idea! Not only are they affordable and make a great visual impact, but they’re a heartfelt way to make every one of your guests feel seen.
the guestbook
In keeping with the Maui theme, the couple had a mini surfboard custom-painted with their name and wedding date for guests to sign in lieu of a guestbook. How cute is this going to be hanging on their gallery wall with their wedding photos?!
the cake
The couple went with a simple four-tier buttercream frosted wedding cake with fresh flower decorations to keep the focus on the surrounding natural beauty.
