[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We wanted to keep our wedding very clean and timeless looking, so we chose to
work with a simple color palette. We figured creams and whites would work
really well in the space, and it would be fun to incorporate pops of chartreuse in
the florals. The space felt warm and inviting and we think our color choices
played a big part in that.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Sparrow Lane has such a romantic feel about it; it’s elegant and elevated which is
what we wanted our wedding to be. The cobblestone pathway leading you to the
ceremony area outdoors and the massive floor to ceiling arched windows that
surround the entire reception area inside make it feel so enchanting. We felt it
was important to get married in a space that felt relaxing and very private and
our venue was exactly that. Seeing all of the vendors come together, and create
such a fanciful but modern space was a dream come true.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Sam proposed to me on July 29, 2023 at the Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta. That
morning, we decided to take our dog paddle boarding on Lac Beauvert. Our dog,
Frankie had never been swimming nor paddle boarding before, so we knew we
were in for a few laughs. We jumped into the freezing lake and laughed until our
stomachs ached. I had no idea he’d propose later that night because he had no
nervous energy throughout the day. As I was getting ready, he took the dog out
for a walk and called me shortly after asking if I could meet him by the same
lake… I walked over there, and that’s when he got down on one knee and popped
the question.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding gown was from the Martina Liana Luxe line; the style was LE1270.
The designer allows you to customize anything you like, so I removed and added
a few things to make it truly one of a kind. All of the 3D floral embellishments
and tulle made me feel so special. The dress had elements of everything I had
liked in previous dresses but all in one.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I had a vision that all of my bridesmaids would be in something simple but still
very impactful and fashion forward. I chose the Elenora Rose Gown from
Meshki because of the 3D floral detailings. My wedding gown had 3D floral
embellishments, so I felt it just went perfectly. These white dresses had a
timeless elegance to them and tied into the monochromatic look I was going for.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen wore matching black Giorgio Fiorelli suits and the groom wore
a Casa Del Sarto double breasted suit. Everything was purchased from Mr. Derk
in Edmonton, Alberta.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]• We chose to serve our meal family style to offer people the ability to enjoy both
proteins for their main course. It was also a wonderful way to promote
conversations amongst guests.
• Salad
– Mixed greens with fresh berries, gouda cheese, candied walnuts and coconut
poppyseed dressing.
• Main Courses
– Roast chicken supremes in a warm lemon vinaigrette with tzatziki and warm
potato salad.
– Ginger beef short ribs with coconut rice and garnished with sweet pickled
carrots and pea shoots.
• Sides
– Roasted seasonal vegetables with honey and thyme.
– House-baked herb bread and butter.
• Sam’s signature cocktail was a nanaimo cream cold brew – it was made with
spiced rum, nanaimo cream, cold brew coffee, sweetener, and bitters. Cassidy’s
signature cocktail was a berry coconut mojito – it was made with strawberry and
blueberry vodka, coconut syrup, berries, soda, mint and lime.
• We had a dessert bar for our guests. We offered blondies, brownies, french
macarons, and cupcakes.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the floral design, we wanted to keep everything very elegant in a white and
green palette, but took a unique approach to the classic by leaning into the
textures and tones of the blooms themselves with an emphasis on green blooms
rather than foliage. The florals were soft, romantic and elevated brining the room
to life in a subtle but impactful way. For maximum sustainability, we also
repurposed all of the ceremony arrangements in the reception space in a way
where everything had intention and felt like it belonged.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We went with a classic vintage cake design with buttercream piping and frills.
The cake was red velvet; it had high quality red cocoa powder and it was layered
with vanilla bean cream cheese buttercream and vanilla swiss buttercream. The
cake was very small, and only meant to serve my husband and I.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]All of our signs and wedding stationery was created by Makari Design Co. We
wanted to keep everything well-balanced and symmetrical, so we chose to have
arched signs and stationery items to match the windows at Sparrow Lane.[/field]
