Hannah and Austin met in 2020 after a mutual friend brought Hannah to a game night during the pandemic. They began dating almost immediately, and the rest – as they say – is history! Austin proposed in Grapevine, Texas at Hotel Vin where the couple’s friends and family made a surprise appearance after the romantic proposal, all staged around a fake engagement party for Austin’s cousin. After dreaming for quite some time of a very southern-style backyard wedding, Hannah and Austin ultimately threw their destination wedding in Charleston at The Gadsden House with the theme: “It’s a runway, not an aisle,” all captured on camera by Catherine Ann Photography.
A veiled family tradition
Hannah wore two dresses – the first was more traditional with beaded sleeves and a high neck, while she later changed into a more flowy dress with detachable sleeves (and put on fuzzy slippers for extra comfort!). She also wore her mom’s veil, which is a tradition in their family started by one of her sisters.
A garden of bridesmaids
After getting dressed, Hannah had a first look with her bridesmaids, who were all styled in different colors and fabrics for a very fun and unique look.
Wedding in the round
Hannah and Austin opted for an intimate wedding “in the round” with their closest family and friends with chairs set up in an arch. Their wedding parties completed the arch standing on either side of the couple at the front of the ceremony.
