[field title=”Food & Drink”]Champagne and Caviar greeted the guests upon arrival to the reception space. Dinner was served to the guests in a set up that felt reminiscent of a restaurant and late night desserts and a custom coffee cart allowed guests to graze and grab a boost of energy to keep on dancin’ all night long! [field title=”Florals & Decor”]Reminiscent of the jazz bar our sweet couple first met at, velvet lounges filled the space with warm candlelight and soft background music while guests sipped on curated cocktails and visited with one another amongst the breeze. Guests found their names on a wall reading “So hot in Here” with individual hot pads that had guests names calligraphed on small tags as a nod to Chelsea’s love of cooking! A cozy lounge nestled underneath a pepper tree held the sign in table with a list of “Reservations Please!” where guests we asked to leave their future restaurant recommendations. Good vibes and even better food were at the forefront of all the fun. A mix of chartreuse velvet linens and mustard textured runners played down the tables with organic florals in terracotta vessels. Woven chargers, sand plates and a pink and mustard scalloped napkin paired with white and gold accented flatware, ribbed coupes and a fun scallop menu sat upon the tables with votives and tapers mixed throughout for romance. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the Bride: Our favorite details: we had collectively come up with the theme “Summer in December” drawing inspiration from the song “Summer in November” by SIR, one of our favorite artists. Heather and her beautiful team truly brought the theme to life, even using a specific lyric to create one of our favorite moments of the wedding. In the song he says “light a candle for the vibe” and from this, they created an interactive structure where each of our guests lit a candle in the cocktail hour/dinner space. It was designed impeccably and could totally be a piece of furniture you would find in our home.

We knew that we wanted our wedding to feel like an intimate dinner party at home while also paying homage to our story of how we met in a jazz bar in the summertime. Each element created, from the personalized drinks at the bar (jazz bar in June or summer in December) , the colorful design set up of our long dinner tables with small cafe tables mixed in, to our trivet favors wall with a beautiful floral display using pots and pans to pay homage to Chelsea love of cooking, felt so true to who we are and offered glimpses into how we live our daily lives.

Jen at Nectar + Bloom created incredible floral designs that spoke to us and created numerous special moments. Chelsea had a memorial chair for important family members that had passed on and Jen made the chair so incredibly beautiful while incorporating flowers that were special to those people, such as my Grandmothers hydrangeas that she was known for in her garden. Jen and I discussed having flowers that not only are beautiful to look at but also have a lovely scent, especially in my bridal bouquet. As an artist, I love full, multi-sensory experiences and Jen truly brought that to life through florals.

Working with Ellie as our photographer was a dream! We originally chose her because we loved her overall style and how she captured the random moments of a wedding rather than having a lot of posed photos. She made us feel comfortable and was so sweet throughout the process. Getting our photos back, Ellie really accomplished what we were looking for in our photos, the random snapshot moments of our wedding day. The posed photos were also beautiful however all of our favorite photos come from these little moments that pass by so quickly on your wedding day that now we are able to cherish forever.

Our venue, Rancho Bernardo Inn, lent a stunning Mediterranean style and sentimental backdrop to the wedding, and our vendors lifted it to even higher heights. Chelsea was born just about five minutes up the road from RB Inn and her family has been celebrating life’s moments there since the late 1970s. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Chelsea: There is not one singular moment that stands out to me from our magical day, rather a collection of snapshots. My childhood friend, Meagan, helping me get into my wedding dress, a moment we’ve thought about since middle school. Taking photos and then hanging out with both of families before the ceremony Hearing the songs before and during our ceremony that meant so much to us (Best Part and Japanese Denim by Daniel Caesar). Our dog, Mia, making little sounds during the ceremony. Walking into cocktail hour for the first time and getting to hug all of our friends and family. The speeches. Seeing Caleb’s face after I chopped all of my hair off. Dancing without a care in the world with the people we love. The band ending the night with our requested last song “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers. There is no way I could possibly chose a favorite moment from such an entirely wonderful day. I feel so grateful to have celebrated our marriage in the way we did because it felt so true to us. We couldn’t have achieved this without the work of all of our incredible vendors and the Amorology team that truly made us feel heard, cared for and celebrated for being exactly who we are. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]From the Groom: An absolute favorite moment for me was a surprise planned by Chelsea. After the ceremony she was supposedly just getting makeup touchups, while I was mingling with folks at the cocktail hour. But, suddenly I get pulled away by the Photographer, saying “Your wife needs you.” in a concerning manner. Thoughts were running through my head, but we rushed over to the room. I walk in to my wife grinning from ear to ear, and I probably had the most confused look on my face. I felt like it took me minutes to realize, but she had cut her long hair, which had normally ran down most of her back, to nearly chin length. My jaw hit floor, one cause I couldn’t believe it, and two because she looked stunning! A moment suspended in time. We then got to walk in together to the dinner, and share the experience in seeing all of friends and family react as well. [/field]
