Kim first caught Adam’s attention across the dance floor one night at a party at the University of Chicago. Over the months that followed, Adam decided he would ask her out. Hoping for a chance encounter with Kim in the quad, he realized that her quick stride made it hard for him to keep up and seize the moment he had hoped for. Instead, Adam sent Kim a message on Facebook inviting her to join him at Jazz Night, and she immediately replied, “Yes!” As the day of the event neared, Kim grew increasingly nervous about their date. That evening, she hopped into the limo with Adam, a fifth of Absolut vodka in hand, and declared, “We need to finish this bottle by the end of the night.” Adam was more than ready to accept the challenge. In a romantic blur, their love story began that night – and ten years later, they sealed their fate with a beautiful summer celebration at The Annex WNY, captured by Brittany Ford and planned with the help of EVL Events.

Bride Kim wore a modern crepe wedding gown by Alyssa Kristin from Alta Moda paired with a pearl-scattered veil, adding a soft summertime touch. Her bouquet by Beck & Forth, a fragrant arrangement of peonies, ranunculus, and sweet peas, set the tone with its fluffy, sweet-smelling blooms.
Inspo: Utah’s vibrant mountain wildflowers
Hailing from Salt Lake City, Kim and Adam drew inspiration from Utah’s vibrant mountain wildflowers to create a light, airy wedding in Buffalo with the feel of a summer garden party. Their venue, The Annex WNY, was set amidst acres of pristine New York countryside, with the ceremony site overlooking a grassy, tree-lined field.
Florals woven through wild leafy branches
Embracing the natural ambiance, their altar was draped in lush greenery, as moments of florals were interwoven into wild leafy branches. The couple made sure their ceremony was personalized to reflect their journey together, including heartfelt readings that celebrated their love story.
A pup as part of the day
Kim and Adam were especially thrilled to have their beloved pup, Roux, with them for their first look and the ceremony, even featuring Roux’s likeness on the cocktail napkins for the evening’s libations.
