We were all over the place with what we wanted and Details, Darling really helped rein us in with a clear vision!

From Details, Darling: When the couple told us they met through their sailing community, we knew we had to interweave their story into the day! You’ll see nods to their love story throughout the seating chart, bar signs, woven textures, and sailcloth tent!

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Every Saturday morning I run to the farmers market with a True Crime podcast playing. One Saturday in June of 2023 Tyler popped out from behind a planter box mid-run and I almost pepper sprayed him I was so surprised. He immediately got down on one knee and I was so confused until I spotted a photographer sneaking pics. He was midway through the proposal speech before realizing I still had my AirPods in, True Crime podcast playing, and couldn’t hear a word he was saying. I said yes and we finished the run together. I was adamant about going into the same coffee shop I always stop at but he was dragging me to a brunch restaurant, where it turns out he had my whole family and his whole family, along with a few friends who flew in from out of town waiting to surprise me and celebrate with us. Having the proposal in the morning was so much fun because we were able to celebrate all day – after brunch we took everyone out on the water for a boat day and then finished with a huge group dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant we’ve been going to since we were kids. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]We kept it super simple! We wanted it to be super clean and timeless.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I didn’t even coordinate my bridesmaid dresses beforehand, I told them to wear whatever they wanted and they ended up going together SO well with the overall vibe & each other. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Food/drink: loved having the family style food, our guests RAVED about Harvest Kitchen. Since it was so hot it was hard to make food choices that would compliment the climate. We’re big fans of spicy margaritas and espresso martinis, so made sure to have those on the menu which Villa Royale executed perfectly – they might have been too good! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Didn’t want traditional wedding flowers and also needed to be mindful of the heat so we got creative with unusual stems.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]originally I didn’t want a wedding cake since I used to make wedding cakes for other people in the past, but my mother insisted and she found Lila’s cakes, it was gorgeous and it also tasted incredible – we did 3 flavors, one per tier.I’m obsessed with ice cream so we hired Kreem to have an ice cream cart with a few flavors which was a huge hit on the dance floor & with the heat. Our caterer also surprised us with homemade Pop Tarts, Tylers favorite! His Pop Tart obsession is a running joke, with his friends mailing us hundreds of boxes of Pop Tarts in the months leading up to the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]we wanted to keep it super short & sweet! We did private vows earlier in the day (highly recommend) and then had one of our good long time friends do the officiating. I think he has now received an influx of officiating requests since he executed it so perfectly. He was able to make it personal and special while keeping it light hearted and fun, which was important to us. After the ceremony we walked back down the aisle to “You’re the one that I want” from Grease, Tylers favorite movie. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We gave nods to our love story in meeting through our sailing community! Wildhouse Ink created Life Saver Ring escort cards, as well as created a custom made sailboat bar menu![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Overall: Fantastic vibe to have the weekend with guests staying on property for a full venue buy out. We had time to catch up with each guest to establish a very relaxed casual atmosphere. Saturday and Sunday AM Breakfast bar in our PJs and swimsuits felt like the night after a giant slumber party.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Highlight: Guests were able to have a full day Pool Party leading up to the wedding. And, naturally, everyone was in the pool at the end of the night, in their wedding attire and all! Villa Royale could not have been a more perfect venue! [/field]
