a proposal in aspen
After matching on a dating app during the pandemic, Katie and Steve met up for their first date: mimosas at a nearby park. Two years later, Steve whisked Katie away to Aspen, where he had asked her to be his girlfriend at the start of their love story. This time, he had different plans. On an early morning hike to Maroon Bells, Steve and Katie were the only two on the mountain. A blanket of snow quieted the rest of the world as Steve surprised Katie by kneeling down and asking her to marry him. She said yes, of course!
the inspo: bougainvillea
In stark contrast to their wintry proposal, the couple said “I do” at Carlouel Yacht Club in Katie’s hometown, sunny Clearwater Beach, Florida. Inspired by the bold hues of bougainvillea, their wedding day was bursting with color!

what they wore
In a classic strapless sweetheart ballgown, Katie channeled a timeless bridal look. Steve also went classic with his wedding wardrobe, sporting a black tux.
Katie’s bridesmaids wore shades of pink, coral, and magenta with bouquets of blush peonies and roses to match the bride’s.
a waterfront ceremony
The pair were married by Steve’s sister on a tennis court with sweeping views of the sound behind them. Colorful blooms by Bloom Shakalaka adorned the ceremony arch to match the outdoor 360-degree bar, which also featured boho-inspired macrame chandeliers.
a hanging garden reception
The color theme carried over to the reception tent with hanging flowers, greenery, and rattan chandeliers for a whimsical yet elegant design. Patterned linens paired beautifully with rattan chargers, tinted glassware, and gold accents. After dinner, guests moved to the dancing space, designed to capture a “cozy Colorado” theme indoors with neutral tones, soft lighting, and comfy lounge areas.
