Planned in just 9 months while navigating the groom’s Yankees schedule, Matt and Gigi’s wedding was full of whimsical, folklore-inspired details and a boho-chic rust color palette to complete the picture-perfect design. After a ceremony surrounded by lush greenery, guests enjoyed a reception set with custom stationery and rust accents before dancing all night long. Of course, this day wasn’t complete without plenty of baseball details as a nod to Matt’s NY Yankees coaching career!

Taylor Swift was the bride’s inspiration for how to elevate their folksy, autumn theme
Matt and Gigi came to Nora Culley Tuck of Engaged with Nora with their venue and November wedding date already chosen. They had selected a brand new, gorgeous venue in Cleveland: Gordon Green. During the design consultation, Gigi mentioned that her favorite musician of all time is Taylor Swift. Since they were already picturing a whimsical, autumnal aesthetic, pulling from T Swift’s most recent album at the time, Folklore, brought in even more of a woodsy and organic element that created a moody yet airy design perfect for the clean-line venue.
The groom’s connection to baseball was woven throughout the entire day
Matt and Gigi met while Matt was coaching for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team. For their first date, they met at Bar Cento for a drink and the rest was history! Because of this, the couple and their photographer made sure to take time on their wedding day to visit the bar and recreate their first date – even sitting in the exact spot at the bar! They also incorporated subtle and sophisticated nods to Matt’s MLB career throughout the wedding design, including hats and socks for the wedding party, a popcorn bar for dessert, and a short game of catch before the ceremony began. The night finished off with a ballpark-themed late-night snack that included sliders and french fries passed to all the guests on the dance floor.

Despite all of the amazing details, the couple’s dog still stole the show
Matt and Gigi really wanted to make sure that their adorable dog, Easton, was a part of the ceremony and celebration. On his absolute best behavior, Easton processed and recessed during the wedding ceremony and was even a part of the custom bar sign with his illustration and signature cocktail displayed. It’s safe to say he stole the show!
A handcrafted arbor with a custom swing was quite the statement piece (and photo op!)
The statement piece of this couple’s design was the specialty rental that was used throughout the entire evening. They utilized Borrow Curated‘s handcrafted Joshua arbor for the ceremony, affixed with cascading foliage. During cocktail hour, a custom swing was added to this arbor for guests to take pictures on. Finally, the couple and their planner completed the look for their head table with a custom neon sign, and the mewlyweds sat on their swing as they shared their first meal as a married couple.
The newlyweds made forever memories with a TikTok dance as their grand entrance
The bride and groom took the time to choreograph several moments from their day, making it that much more memorable! During their grand entrance, they performed the viral dance to “Classic” by MKTO (which currently has 1.4 million TikTok views). They also had a beautiful first dance to “Lover” by Taylor Swift that brought everyone in the room to tears – including the staff! For dinner, THYME Cleveland Co. outdid themselves with Beer & BBQ Braised Short Ribs, Maple Soy Brined Airline Chicken Breasts, and Butternut Squash Ravioli. They also kept formalities short and sweet by just having the best man, maid of honor and our newlyweds make toasts.
