the vibe: cool kids tie the knot
High school sweethearts Erica and Eric hosted their wedding at South Congress Hotel in the cool neighborhood of downtown Austin, Texas. With help from Party Doll Events, bold pops of red infused into their wedding, and the theme of “cool girl” bride and rocker chic emerged. They danced and rocked the night away atop a black and white checkered dance floor (as mirrored in their invitation), with a vintage-inspired 3-tier cake topped with red cherries next to their cherry cocktail martini tower just before the couple indulged in Austin-famous slices of pizza.
the fashion
For her look, Erica selected a stunning lace mermaid gown with detachable long lace sleeves. Her sleek updo, almond-shaped mani, and lace-trimmed veil added the perfect vintage touch to the look. Later, she would slip into an adorable textured mini dress to really get the party started. Playing into the black and white color palette, the bridesmaids rocked chic monochromatic ensembles in an array of timeless silhouettes. Eric and his men sported clean black three-piece suits with a classic black tie.
vintage details
The couple leaned into vintage details, like their audio guestbook, the antique lace in the bride’s dresses, the groom’s victrola radio for getting ready tunes, and more. Their wedding was full of old-meets-new, reminiscent of their relationship.
a martini tower
Forget champagne–these days, couples are getting creative when it comes to their cocktail tower and nothing says vintage like a martini with a maraschino cherry! What cocktail will you stack up at your wedding?
the cake
For their vintage-inspired wedding theme, the couple opted for a three-tiered white Lambeth-style wedding cake topped with maraschino cherries, of course! Just look at that close-up of the buttercream frosting, you can literally see the vanilla beans–it must have tasted out of this world!
