the vision: vibrant minimalism
Ivana and Michal’s wedding in July 2024 was a breathtaking affair set against the backdrop of the newly reconstructed Castle Voderady in Slovakia. The historic charm of the castle, combined with modern elegance, created an unforgettable atmosphere for this joyous celebration. Ivana and Michal’s love story began more than eight years ago, a journey that has seen them build a life filled with love, adventure, and the joys of parenthood. Though they now reside in Switzerland, they chose Slovakia as the perfect location for their wedding to share this special day with family and friends.
The creative vision behind the event was brought to life by Holubica, who served as both the wedding planner and designer. Adela Strimbeanu at Holubica worked closely with Ivana, known for her love of minimalist style and nude aesthetics. However, Ivana wanted to surprise her guests with a bold and unexpected twist—a vibrant color palette ranging from soft pinks to deep reds. Adela at Holubica flawlessly executed this vision, ensuring that the color scheme added a lively and romantic touch without overpowering the minimalist aesthetic. An elegant “bow” symbol was woven throughout the entire design, serving as a unifying element that added a touch of charm and sophistication. The bow appeared in various forms, from subtle accents on the stationery to larger installations in the décor.
a courtyard ceremony
The celebration began with a warm welcome for guests, who were greeted with a glass of prosecco in the castle’s picturesque courtyard. Surrounded by the castle’s majestic architecture, the courtyard offered a serene and enchanting setting where guests could mingle and soak in the atmosphere of this special occasion. The wedding ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour, also took place in the courtyard.
a reception in the orangerie
As evening approached, the celebration moved to the new Orangerie for the reception. The Orangerie, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and modern design, provided a stunning contrast to the historic charm of the castle. Bathed in the soft light of the setting sun, the space was transformed into a sophisticated and romantic reception venue. The Orangerie’s elegant, contemporary architecture provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of dining, dancing, and celebration.
the stationery
Ivana and Michal’s wedding was elevated by the exquisite work of Silvia Brezianska, a talented stationery designer known for her chic and sophisticated designs. Silvia has a remarkable ability to translate a couple’s vision into beautifully crafted stationery that not only sets the tone for the event but also becomes a cherished keepsake. Understanding the importance of the bow symbol, a key element throughout the wedding’s design, Silvia expertly incorporated it into the custom-made wedding invitation set and accompanying stationery. The result was a collection that perfectly captured the elegance and personal touch Ivana and Michal wanted to convey to their guests.
the fashion
The bride and her bridesmaids were in the expert hands of two talented beauty professionals: Eva Suchterova, the makeup artist, and Paulina Pokorna, the hairstylist. Together, they ensured that Ivana and her bridal party looked absolutely stunning from the ceremony through the evening celebrations.
Ivana’s gown from Pronovias, selected from Wedding Saloon Nicol, was a masterpiece of timeless elegance. Featuring clean lines and a refined silhouette, the dress perfectly complemented Ivana’s love for simplicity. The standout feature of the gown was a beautiful wave accent on one shoulder, adding a distinctive and artistic touch to the design. To complete her bridal look, Ivana chose a pair of stunning shoes from Jimmy Choo, jewelry from Magda Butrym, and a bag from Valentino. The Cartier wedding bands added a luxurious touch to Ivana’s bridal ensemble, enhancing her overall look with their timeless elegance and refined craftsmanship.
a sweet finish
Ivana and Michal’s wedding was made even sweeter by the delectable creations from Helou Sweet Factory and Lulu’s Bakery. These talented confectioners provided a stunning cake and an irresistible candy bar that were not only delicious but also perfectly aligned with the couple’s sophisticated wedding theme.
