We wanted the vibe to be romantic, elegant, and classy. We knew we wanted to have a church ceremony with our reception indoors, where the weather wasn’t going to be a worry. We wanted the space to be simple, and we could add the special details to the space to make it fit our vision.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We are high school sweethearts! We met in our senior year of high school and got to experience the excitement that comes along with senior year together. After finishing up college and buying a house Josh proposed on a beautiful summer morning in a hot air balloon, where it was just the two of us. After saying yes, our parents were waiting for us as we landed in our hot air balloon! We got to pop some champagne before we headed back to an engagement party that our parents planned with all of our friends and family.

I had a wonderful experience at the bridal salon where my dress was purchased from. They made me feel comfortable and excited to try on various styles of dresses! Their dress options were so unique compared to others I tried on previously. My wedding dress was truly love at first sight. As soon as I put it on and walked out to show my mom and sister, I said, “This dress is so ME.” I wanted flowy with lots of detail and sparkle. I wanted a train in the back to complement my cathedral veil. I also loved the flattering look of the strapless style princess cut that the dress embodied. I loved my wedding dress!!

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

My vision for my bridesmaid dresses was simple, with a pretty sage green color that complemented all the details of our day. I wanted my bridesmaids to choose whichever style they liked since they were the ones wearing the dress. I loved the idea of everyone being in a style of their choice. I wanted my bridesmaid dresses to be a light sage green since my wedding was in August, and the one we went with was the perfect sage color that I was looking for! I love a light sage for the warmer months and it gave such a warm and light look in my photos that complimented the rest of my details. I was very happy with them!

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Josh and I both wanted a very classic and sharp look when it came to the groomsmen’s attire. We loved how sharp and classy the black looked. It went with the elegance of our venue and aesthetic. We gave it some color and detail by adding sage green bow ties with a floral pattern that was the same color as the bowties. For Josh, he stuck with the black bowtie but added the floral pattern to his as well. I loved how classy this all looked when put together!

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The food was one of the most important parts to us. During cocktail hour guests were able to enjoy some drinks and hors d’oeuvres. For dinner, we wanted ourselves, family, and all of our guests to have a nice meal before we got to dancing! Dinner was served family style which we loved, so our guests could sit down, and relax while they waited for their food to be served to them. We loved how our guests were all sitting down at their assigned tables together to enjoy the meal. We served two proteins: a pretzel-crusted chicken and a beef short rib, along with a potato that was so yummy paired with some vegetables, a salad, and bread. For drinks, guests were able to enjoy some classic bar options but we did add a signature drink menu. These drinks included: The Bride (rum, triple sec, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine, and starry), The Groom ( 7 n 7 with Canadian club and starry,) The Pretzel which was named after our sweet dog (vodka, cranberry juice, club soda, and lime garnish).

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When looking at flowers, we loved the white flowers with greenery. This went perfectly with our wedding colors and our vision. I ended up deciding to go with white roses with hydrangeas for my bouquet and centerpieces. The bridesmaid bouquets were small and simple with hydrangeas and greenery. For the groomsmen, we went with the classic white rose, which looked very nice against the black tux. Our floral centerpieces were complemented by antique gold-tiered candles that were perfect for the elegant aesthetic of our venue. Our bridal table and cake table had a sage green tablecloth with a beautiful lace overlay to give some detail. The room was surrounded by windows and doorways where natural sunlight would shine through. There were beautiful chandeliers all throughout the ballroom that not only offered beauty but a romantic vibe as well. Our decor complimented the natural beauty that the venue possessed.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

For our wedding cake, we wanted pretty but simple. We went with a 3 tier white frosted cake with glitter sprinkled all over. A little detailing on the edge of the cake. Along with some of our flowers added to bring in the elegance. For the flavoring, we went with a lemon flavor cake with raspberry filling! Lemon is my favorite type of cake and to make it even better the raspberry filling complimented it so much. This was the perfect combo for a summer wedding.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Our ceremony was held at Josh’s church, which he grew up going to, and that was a special part of his life. We always knew we wanted to get married in a church. During our ceremony, all of our special people gathered to watch us say “I Do.” Seeing the church pews full was so special and heartwarming that everyone came to celebrate us on our special day and witness our marriage. We were able to organize our ceremony with what readings we wanted as well as the music. It was truly beautiful to see the ceremony come together. For our reception songs, we wanted all different kinds of music, to get everyone on the dance floor enjoying themselves dancing the night away!

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One elegant and beautiful detail that we were given the option to add to our special day, was the historic transportation that we were able to arrange to drive us from one spot to another for specific photograph locations where we wanted our photographs captured. Myself, Josh, and the photographer were on an old-fashioned Model T, while my bridal party and our videographer were in a horse and carriage. This was truly amazing and such a special addition to our wedding day. Riding through the village in this transportation truly felt like a dream. It was so elegant, classy, and romantic.

The venue is a historic site that is a must-see for people who are visiting the area. When I was introduced to the ballroom hall where we had our reception, we instantly fell in love. It was stunning! The beauty of it brought out the elegance and romance that we knew was the space we wanted to celebrate our love with all of our people.
