the vision: sophisticated yet playful
College sweethearts, Jonny and Bianca, planned a wedding in their happy place, with the slopes of Lake Tahoe in the background. With the help of Jenn Robirds, the couple decided on The Ritz-Carlton in Truckee, which was the perfect backdrop to get both the green outdoors for the ceremony, and a black tie ballroom feel for their dinner.
the invitations
Introducing the upscale woodsy theme, the invitation suite was chic and understated in neutral colors with a hint of green. We love that the couple incorporated a map of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding forests to give their guests a sense of place and get them excited about the getaway.
the fashion
Bianca, a fashion influencer, did her own hair and makeup and chose a lavish Galia Lahav gown to set the tone for a sophisticated evening with playful details. The bride had three wedding looks for the wedding weekend, complete with a sleek white romper and Jimmy Choos.
the first look
On the tree-lined path, Jonny waited to feel the gentle tap on his shoulder. When he turned around, there she stood, his bride, somehow even more beautiful than he imagined. Her lace gown trailed behind her as she walked, silhouetted by the tulle sleeves draped gently off her shoulders.
the drinks
For cocktail hour, guests were treated to two signature cocktails, a Spicy Margarita and a Blueberry Mojito. There was a terrace bar set up for guests to enjoy directly after the ceremony and another bar inside to keep the party going.
the cake
For dessert, the couple cut into a delicious four-tier wedding cake. The organic texture of the buttercream paired with live Baby’s Breath flowers complemented the rest of the nature-inspired design beautifully.
