Whimsical Summer Details With an Air of Timelessness at River Bottoms Ranch

When deciding what colors I wanted to highlight in our wedding, I kept coming back to a dusty blue. My engagement ring’s center stone is a sapphire, so I wanted our wedding to reflect the ring Isaac proposed to me with. I did not want blue to be the only color we used, so I decided to use multicolored florals to add some contrast and dimension to our color palette.

From the very first moment I started planning, I knew that I wanted my wedding to have an air of classiness. Allison, our planner, helped me bring this vision to life and aided me in creating and imagining the little details that tied everything together. From the floral fans to the cream parasols, everything was simply perfect.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The day of our proposal, Issacs told me he wanted to go out to a nice dinner and then go up to his parents’ house in Kamas, Utah, to see his sister and her family, who were in town from Texas at the time. When we got up to Kamas, instead of taking me to his parents’ immediately, he drove up this little side road to an overlook where we had one of our first dates. He had set up a blanket with various pictures from throughout our relationship, and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him right as the sun was setting over the green hills surrounding us. It was perfect, and I was delighted it was just the two of us. We took some pictures before finally heading to his parents where to my surprise, all of our friends and family were waiting for us. It was the perfect proposal for us, and I loved how simple it was and that he had all of our favorite people waiting to celebrate with us after we had our moment.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

My wedding dress was a corseted ball gown with no embellishments, a sweetheart neckline, buttons down the back, and just enough train to add the drama that I wanted. I decided to wear a ball gown because I felt it was the most flattering cut for my body type and that it helped me feel my best. I am so glad I wore the dress I did and will forever love how it made me feel like a princess.

I had five different for all my girls because I wanted to mix different cuts and textures while maintaining the theme of blue. I wanted all my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and like themselves in their dress, so that factor drove me into deciding which girl wore which dress.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen rented their suits from generation tux, which I found to be very easy and efficient. Isaac had a custom suit made in Ireland, so I wanted the groomsmen’s suits to compliment Isaac’s suit while being separate from it. The groomsmen wore a navy-blue suit while Isaac’s was a midnight blue suit, which I did intentionally to create more depth in my color palate of blues.

I worked with Culinary Crafts to cater my wedding, and they did the most outstanding job of bringing the detail to the food that I wanted. I did both a sit-down dinner and moving food stations at my reception, and I was appreciative to Culinary Crafts for the number of options they had for me and my guests. I think food is one of the things people remember most about a wedding, so it was a priority for me to have amazing, memorable food.

LA FÊTE floral and events was both my wedding planner and florist. Allison was able to work within my budget to make my floral dreams come true, and the flower arch she created was breathtaking. I loved the variety of flowers Allison was able to use, and how she reused pieces from my ceremony to reception to help me save on cost. My florals were probably my favorite detail from our special day.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

My wedding cake was a three-tiered lemon raspberry cake with lemon buttercream frosting. A family friend, Tifiny Reed, made the cake and it was decorated with fresh flowers by LA FÊTE floral and events.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

During our ceremony we had a live string quartet and two of my bridesmaids sang Luke Comb’s song ‘Love You Anyway’ for a musical number. My best friends and bridesmaid read an excerpt from Les Misérables, and my grandfather was our officiant. Our ceremony was very personal and heartfelt. Gold Standard Music took over for our reception and played live music all night long!

Our venue has a bridal suite upstairs that I was able to use to get ready in. my bridesmaids and mother also used the suite, and that time to get ready was very special to me. Having my mom and all of my girls there to support me and get me excited was one of my favorite parts of the day and helped me calm my nerves.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Having my grandfather officiate our ceremony was very special to me because he is one of my favorite people in this whole world. What he prepared to speak was so thoughtful and well spoken, and I will forever cherish having him play that role in our day.
